New Orleans Knitting

This year, like last, I spent Easter weekend in New Orleans.  The French Quarter is full of friendly faces like this one.
Last year I found this fun and friendly yarn shop called The Quarter Stitch.    It's some needlepoint...
...and some knitting.  It was worth a return visit.
I bought some yarns and they were beautifully wrapped.
There's cotton (on the left), alpaca (on the right), and in between is the only yarn I have a definite plan for.  Once again I fell for the shop sample.  The mohair (cream color stuff in the middle) was knit into a simple garter-stitch scarf.  The ends of the scarf and every 6" or so also had the sparkly stuff knit along with the mohair.  It looked very nice.
I need to find some additional projects (and some time) to knit all the yarn I bought!

What fun -and love the way they package your purchases!
