Ascot for Mom

I've fallen behind when it comes to posting my finished knitting (and one quilting) projects here. So rather than catch up in chronological order I'm going to post this latest one while I am thinking about it.

This is an "ascot" I made for my mom's Valentine's Day gift. I think of it more as keyhole scarf, but the pattern is called Day Brightener Ascot. It's from the special issue of Interweave Knits Accessories 2011. I think it is meant to be one-skein worsted project, but I didn't check gauge and had to buy a second skein to finish. Luckily the yarn store still had the same dye lot. The yarn is Plymouth Select Worsted Merino Superwash and the color is #6 which I just call blue. (The second picture is a more accurate representation of the color.)

I think the design looks like two stacked hearts. That's appropriate for Valentine's Day!

Oh I love that! I think I need to just forget fav'ing and queue-ing... I need to just pay attention to what you're casting on.

Your mom will appreciate the hearts and love put into it.
