Yellow Pages

Last night I saw a TV commercial for the yellow pages. You know how nowadays there are several versions of the yellow pages. This commercial was for one particular version which is better than the others because it has more complete listings (they say). Two older ladies looked up a place called Needleworks. They packed up their knitting bags with yarn (all kinds) and needles (many sizes) and went to the address shown in the ad. It wasn't a yarn shop. It was a tattoo parlor. If they'd used the correct yellow pages, they wouldn't have made that mistake.

I don't think this commercial consulted any knitters. I was trying to figure out why the ladies took all their supplies to the store. It didn't seem like the stuff was related to one project since it was such a mishmash. Did they plan to sit on the shop's couch and knit? Did they need some help figuring something out? And to look up stuff in the yellow pages, you look up a category, not a business name. So how did they confuse a tattoo parlor with a yarn shop?

And it overlooks the cross-pollination between knitters and the tattooed. But, ya know.

Commercials don't always reflect the real world... just good laughable stories, lol

I wanted to let you know your Winter Doldrums package is going to be a few days late and I appologize, however I've been really sick since last week and just got so behind. I promise it'll be on its way VERY soon!

Your DTWD dishcloth swap pal

Your Winter Doldrums box is on its way! I sent it first thing this morning via Priority, so hopefully you should get it on Saturday - I hope you like it. Its missing a dishcloth I was doing for your Tuscan likes, but with being so sick I just didn't get it finished and I didn't want to hold it up any longer... I hope you still enjoy it!
