In Progress

Thanks to the wonders of Ravelry, I now know what a "smoke ring" is.  Previously I was unaware of such a thing.  I kept seeing this one called Old Shale Smoke Ring and thought it was very pretty.  I realized the suggested yarn is Mountain Colors Bearfoot and knew I had a skein of that.  So I cast on.  It's easy (only one round of four in the pattern is not purely knit) and pretty.

Pets told me they'd like to model my work-in-progress.  Here's Lucy.  (Please excuse my pajama pants.)
And Maggie.

You've inspired me to knit on for myself. It's always fun to find something else to do with my enormous stash of sock yarn. I should put it in the attic to insulate the house. But, we'd be too hot.

I love the smoke ring - I look at that pattern over and over, but I have not cast on yet! I like your choice of colors too - it looks pretty on both your girls!

I'm going to have to visit Ravelry today and look up smoke ring. It looks neat.
