I participated in the Christmas Around the World Swap. Yesterday I came home to a cheerful package from Cary. She lives on a sheep farm in Michigan. How cool is that? I don't think I'd have ever met her if it wasn't for the swap. Making new friends is the best benefit of swaps if you ask me!Cary sent me a beautiful crocheted flower. She sent a Stash chai sampler, a tin of holiday fruit tea from Republic of Tea, and a fun mug to drink the tea from. It says "coffee's not my cup of tea" and she bought it at her favorite coffee shop. The candle is shaped like a bottle of milk and the flavor is chai latte. It smells really good. She sent some sock yarn (and I will try some socks with it) and a set of three scarf patterns from a Michigan designer. What a cheerful package of goodies for Christmas!
Tilt your head sideways to see the mug. I almost forgot to mention--it has a cover (see first picture) so it's a travel mug. I'll probably use it a lot.

While I was busy unwrapping my presents, Lucy was busy taking apart her rawhide bone.
Cary, thank you for being such a good swap partner! Merry Christmas!

Hurray, Kathy! I'm glad the package arrived to you ;) You know, I forgot to put one other thing in there, though, related to Lucy (kind of) so I will have to send that in a different little package to you.
I also forgot to write a note about the crochet piece. I'm not sure if it is supposed to be a doily or a dish cloth - seems kind of big for a dish cloth - but a really neat elderly lady makes these at a local church craft bazaar. She volunteers at schools and teaches knitting and crochet to younger, at risk children. They call her "grandma Mary" and she is so sweet and funny. I wish I had a picture to share of her. But I thought it was pretty (I have bought other things from her in the past) and I don't know why it made me think of you ;)
I thought that if you didn't want to attempt socks, the sockotta yarn might work with one of the scarf patterns. My friend, Pegg, writes these patterns.
Enjoy your Michigan connection! I have enjoyed getting to know you via your blog, too! Merry Christmas!
Cary,
I've decided it's going to be a doily. It's way too pretty to be a dishcloth.
